Hydro-Floss Product Review
This article would be classified as a review of the hydro floss oral irrigator based on personal observation and use.This is a tool that should be talked about.
A while back, my dental doctor and her trusty hygienist assistant told me that something had to be done about my gum disease issues. They were quite sober and determined in their explanation of what they felt was a necessary treatment.
Their plan involved something called a ’scaling and root planing’. This is also referred to as a SRP.
I was not jumping for joy upon hearing this. It just didn’t sound like it was something that I wanted to go through.
I was told by the hygienist that she would have to go in under the gums and remove the tartar that had formed there over time. She has special tools for the job. She also intended to make the surfaces smooth so that it would be harder for calculus build-up to return.
It appeared that this was going to be even worse than I initially imagined. It was no comfort to hear her say that she could numb my gums up so that I wouldn’t feel a thing!
It seemed to me that it was going to be a bit painful when the meds left my system. This was not the kind of life experience that I would remember fondly.
The dentist’s helper was very firm that if I didn’t accept their treatment plan that they can not accept responsibility for what might happen to my teeth. I was asked to signify that I understood this by putting my signature on a waiver. Could this situation get any worse?
Candidly speaking, I imagined that I was becoming the victim of some slick marketing tactics. It was hard for me to see the request to sign a waiver as anything more than a trick.
Then we reached the point where I made up my mind. The hygienist told me that it would be best if they started today.She was interested in replacing my regular cleaning with this special treatment.
The logic she used made sense. The problem was with insurance. Should I get the standard, regular cleaning procedure now, insurance might not be inclined to pay for the advanced one later.I strongly believed that I needed to think this over before I could commit to what they were asking.
I felt strongly opposed to this for some reason, therefore I said, “no” to the treatment.Strangely enough, the waiver was never mentioned again after that.
All of this sounded a bit ‘off’ to me.I felt that their HAD to be another way to heal my gums.
I learned that someone I was familiar with had this treatment done to her.She confided that the outcome was not good in her opinion.
I looked for an answer that would make sense to me.I ran across the hydro floss irrigator.I ordered one.
When it arrived I was very hopeful. I happened to know that the package should have arrived with an instructional video in it, but my package didn’t have one.
I sent off a note requesting that they send me the missing video.I did not have any more issues after that and shortly received the video in the mail. I felt upbeat after watching the video.
I really felt sure that this device was going to be useful.I began utilizing it several times each day.
Somewhere around five months elapsed before it was time to visit the dentist again. Seeing their reactions made me feel that it was all worth it.
The same assistant and doctor took a good look at my gums. Each agreed that there was a vast improvement.They actually told me that there was no longer any need for that SRP treatment at this point.
You most likely realize that I was very, very happy to learn of my results. I still use the Hydro Floss irrigator daily, except when I am out of the country or my home town.
If you have worried if the Hydro Floss is worth getting, let me tell you, in my opinion it is! This opinion is simply built upon my experience with this device.
